“What I’m Reading” Wednesday #10

Welcome to “What I’m Reading” Wednesday. On “What I’m Reading” Wednesday, I share with my readers what I am currently reading and share some of my thoughts about the book. I then ask my readers what they are currently reading this week.

Here is what I’m reading this Wednesday:

Grave Consequences

Lisa T. Bergren

Here’s the description via Goodreads:

For Cora Kensington, the journey of a lifetime takes unexpected twists. And her future—her very life—depends on the decisions she’ll make at each crossroad. As her European tour with her newfound family takes her through Austria, France, and Italy, an unseen enemy trails close behind. Meanwhile, a forbidden love continues to claim her heart, putting everyone’s plans in danger.

And as Cora stays one step ahead of it all, what might need the most protection is her own heart, torn between the dramatic pursuit of a dashing Frenchman and a man who has been quietly staking claim to her affections all along. Love has dangers all its own. She must escape the bonds of the past and discover the faith to make the right choices, as each one has grave consequences.

I just finished Glamorous Illusions, the first book in this series, yesterday and I absolutely loved it. I am so glad I had the second book ready to be read! (I got it free on Kindle recently!!). I had heard a lot of good things about Lisa T. Bergren’s books but hadn’t had a chance to see for myself yet. I am excited to be reading this series and have greatly enjoyed it so far. I have the River of Time series and The Homeward Trilogy on my Kindle as well so I’ll be sure to dig into those soon too!

Have you read any of Lisa T. Bergren’s books? If so, which ones? And what ones are your favorite?

The other book I am currently reading is:

Veronica Roth

Here’s the description via Goodreads:

One choice will define you.

What if your whole world was a lie?
What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

Most of you have probably heard about the Divergent trilogy. I really liked the first book, the second book was pretty good. The third book has been okay. I don’t want the trilogy to end. I have heard it doesn’t end very well. I hate when you find an awesome book but the series doesn’t end that great.

Have you read the Divergent trilogy? NO SPOILERS!!!

Thanks for reading my post about what I’m reading this Wednesday. What are you reading this Wednesday?
